You are cordially invited to participate in the Future HR Talents Hackathon organized by HKMA Human Capital Management Society.

1. Objectives of the Hackathon

•    To provide an experience that simulate ongoing real life HR business challenges for students to navigate and tackle;

•    To promote sharing of insights on how HR can contribute to organization under the changing environment;

•    To provide a platform for exchange between HR professionals, Professors & Academics and young HR talents.

 

 

2. Target Participants & Teams

•    Each team to comprise of two to four participants, who are in Year 2 to Year 4 business major full-time undergraduate students(with at least half of the            team members are studying Human Resources as a major or as a concentration)

•    The following universities will be invited to nominate a team (one team per university):

 

-  The Chinese University of Hong Kong

 

 City University of Hong Kong

 

-  Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

 

-  Hong Kong Baptist University

 

-  Hong Kong Metropolitan University

 

-  The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

 

-  Hong Kong Shue Yan University

 

- The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

 

-  Lingnan University

 

-  The University of Hong Kong

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Format of the Competition

•  Pre-Hackathon Preparation

-  Background information and some data of the case will be provided by Thursday, 23 December 2021 for participants to prepare in advance (all                   information provided will be in English).

-   Written submission in English of 1,000-1200 words focuses on problem identification and analysis based on the given information of the case is required       to be submitted by Friday, 28 January 2022 for pre-judging. In-text citation of references are excluded from word count.

 

 

•  Hackathon Day

- Date: Saturday, 19 February 2022

- Time: 9:00 am - 1:30 pm

- Venue: 3/F, Tower 2, South Seas Centre, 75 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

     ➢ Case information: Full details of the case will be provided on the Hackathon Day

     ➢ Discussion - Team discussion, focus on proposed course of action. 1-hour preparation to refine team presentation materials

     ➢ Presentation: 10 minutes presentation on the solution in English per team

     ➢ Q&A: in front of the panel of judges after the presentation in English

 

 

4. Prizes

•   Scholarships of HK$3,000, HK$2,000 and HK$1,000 will be awarded to the Champion, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up team respectively.

•   A Best Presentation Award will be awarded and HK$500 will be presented to the winner.

•   A Certificate of Participation will be presented to each participant

•  All participating teams’ members will be awarded student membership of the HCMS of HKMA for two years from 2022 to end of 2023, and free-of-charge      access to all HKMA HCMS activities throughout the two years from 2022 to end of 2023.

•  The Champion team will receive an opportunity to a one-day job shadowing experience led by a Senior HR professional or Director.

 

 

For students who are interested, please complete the application (individual) via hereon or before 23:59, Dec 8, 2021 (Wednesday). The faculty office will review all received applications, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

 

Team will be formed and nominated by Faculty Office based on the selection result.  Faculty Office will perform official registration to the competition organiser by Dec 17, 2021 (Friday).
