To make sure that you are well prepared for your new journey at our Faculty, the following are important events and registration procedures which you are strongly advised to complete. In particular, you are required to attend the University Registration and Induction Programmes during mid-August to early September 2026. It is important for you to attend all the scheduled activities and complete the required procedures so as not to affect your course selection and collection of Student Registration Card.
When you have received your HKU Portal account details, you must complete the master registration online as soon as possible. This process is very important and crucial for the production of your Student Registration Card, course selection and your application(s) for other study facilities.

The University Registration and Induction Programme for New Students will be held from mid-August to September 2026, depending on the curriculum of study. The Programme comprises three parts, namely (1) Faculty Induction Talk and Programme Induction Talk, (2) Talk on Common Core Courses, and (3) CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk.
FACULTY INDUCTION TALK AND PROGRAMME INDUCTION TALK
Faculty Induction Talk
The Faculty Induction Talk will give you an overview of your study at HKU and university life including introduction to the School, programme structure, important academic matters such as academic integrity, academic advising and experiential learning opportunities.
Date: August 24, 2026 (Monday) - 10:00 am – 11:30 am | Welcome and Induction Session at the University Grand Hall, Centennial Campus, HKU - 11:30 am – 5:00 pm | Team Exercise, Gift Redemption, FBE Student Societies Orientation Campaign Dress code: Casual Remarks: In the event of bad weather on August 24, this face-to-face academic induction talk will be rescheduled to September 12 with the exact time and venue.
Programme Induction Talk
Mixer event for Dual Degree Programme
The students enrolled in our Dual Programmes with the Peking University, Sciences Po and the University of British Columbia are invited to attend a Mixer event. This Event aims to strengthen connections among current HKU Business School students across various Dual Degree Programmes, from junior to senior. This gathering offers a valuable opportunity to interact with students from different programmes and years, exchanging experiences and providing advice to others to prepare for studies within the 4-year curriculum in HKU and our partner institutions.

Career Orientation for Undergraduates
The Career Orientation is a tailored initiative offered by the Faculty's Undergraduate Career Development and Training (CDT) Team. During the session, students will be given an overview of the resources and support offered by the UG CDT Team. In particular, a tailored session led by experienced career coach will be included, which allow you to gain useful insights and tools for kick starting your career exploration journey.

TALK ON COMMON CORE COURSES
The Talk will provide an opportunity for students to obtain information and ask questions in relation to Common Core course selection before the first day of course selection on August 18, 2026.
Date: August 11, 2026 (Tuesday) Venue: Grand Hall, Centennial Campus, HKU
Date: August 27, 2026 (Thursday) Venue: LE1, LG1/F. Library Extension Building, HKU Main Campus *Both sessions on August 11 and August 27 are identical.
CEDARS NON-ACADEMIC INDUCTION TALK
The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) provides supportive resources and customised opportunities to students, enabling them to strive for excellence in the whole person development. In this CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk, students will be introduced to a wide range of non-academic services, support and resources to prepare them for their learning journey at HKU and enable them for a fulfil first year learning experience.
Remarks: In case of inclement weather, the online sessions of CEDARS Non-Academic Induction Talk 2026 on 15 Aug and 27 Aug will be held as scheduled.
