EY 2021 Better Working World Data Challenge

EY is inviting applications for its “2021 Better Working World Data Challenge”.

 

About the Competition
EY 2021 Better Working World Data Challenge is an annual global data science challenge for university students and young professionals. The Challenge is part of the EY commitment to innovate and use technology to address some of the world's largest environmental and climate change problems.

 

This year’s Challenge has two components:

 

Challenge 1: Build a system to detect fire-edges in infrared linescan images

 

Challenge 2: Build a system to map the location and behaviour of fire-edges in satellite images

 

Participants, working as an individual or in teams of 2 – 4 people, are required to develop an automated fire-edge detection and forecasting model using airborne and satellite imagery from NASA, the European Space Agency, and Geoscience Australia to help tackle the global treat of bushfires.
