Australian Undergraduate Business Case Competition 2025 (Champion)

We are thrilled to announce that our students have won the Champion title in the Australian Undergraduate Business Case Competition 2025!

The Australian Undergraduate Business Case Competition is an annual international consulting case competition, offering undergraduate students the unique opportunity to propose innovative solutions to real business problems faced by Australian companies.

Hosted in Melbourne by Monash Business School, this year’s competition brought together 16 teams from leading universities around the globe to tackle three complex business cases. Our students have demonstrated exceptional analytical skills, creativity, and teamwork, earning the Champion title. Congratulations!

“AUBCC was such a memorable first international case competition experience for me and one I’ll always remember fondly over. Some core experiences include watching the live-singing Wicked movie, electric cycling to the wrong hotel location, deliriously laughing at 3am because of a questionable factory location etc. Although it was tough, I had the strongest support system with my team and faculty advisors: Daniella, Alex, Kayla, Mr. Kenny Lam and Ms. Pinto Rasika Tasdyata to whom I’m so grateful for.“

“Being able to represent HKU at the Australian Undergraduate Business Case Competition was truly a rewarding experience.

Faced with three different cases, each of varying lengths and requirements, there was a consensus that dedication and perseverance were the key to competing at AUBCC.

The competition started with the short 3-hour case opening new doors right away, encouraging us to take on short pitching sessions and guide boardroom style discussions — both of which strongly differ from the conventional case presentation formats.

The long 12-hour case consequently pushed us to our limits, prompting us to dive into the relatively unfamiliar realm of drop shipping. While the hefty amounts of data and comprehensive list of deliverables were daunting in that moment, our detailed expansion strategy that had aligned perfectly with New Aim’s long-term mission was the greatest testimony to the determination that ultimately carried us to our championship title.

The incorporation of First Nations elements within the cases also shed light on ethnic societies once beyond the reach of our cultural hemisphere. Hosting conversations with those of indigenous heritage and experiencing the First Peoples’ practices first-hand truly brought new perspectives to the table and deepened my understanding of the world.

AUBCC now sits as an integral part of my university life, both academically and personally, shaping my skills in communication, critical thinking and collaboration while connecting me to a network of driven and like-minded peers. To work in a team is to unconditionally trust, even through the most pressing times, that they will always have your back, step in when needed, and ensure that together, nothing is left uncovered. Beyond titles and achievements, I’m most grateful to have worked with the brightest minds and the kindest hearts, whose presence made every challenge worthwhile. To say I’m grateful is also an understatement for the continuous guidance of our Faculty, the invaluable insights of our Faculty Advisor Mr. Kenny Lam, and the unwavering support of our coach Ms. Pinto Rasika Tasdyata, all of which have been instrumental throughout our journey at AUBCC.”

“Who knew casing could actually be this fun? Between intense brainstorming sessions, late-night debates over the tiniest details, and the thrill of presenting our ideas, I’ve genuinely gained a new appreciation for problem-solving. But honestly, what made it so special was the people, working with such an amazing team and fostering deeper connections with them throughout this journey was the real highlight for me.

And it wasn’t just about the competition! Exploring Melbourne together, whether it was biking around the city, discovering hidden bars, or just soaking in the vibe, made the whole experience unforgettable. It wasn’t just about solving cases; it was about creating memories with some of the most brilliant and supportive people I’ve ever met.”

(by Miss Tarliman Kayla Callysta Nathania)

“Through AUBCC, I learned that teamwork is the key to winning case competitions. Only by creating a comfortable environment that encourages dissent and embraces meritocracy can good ideas flow. I also learned to really put ourselves in the shoes of the client, allowing us to identify pain points that are otherwise hidden.”
