YOUniversity Deal Challenge 2021

YOUniversity Deal Challenge 2021, organized by Duff & Phelps, is calling for registration now.

 

In this competition, participants shall solve a complex transaction similar to one that Duff & Phelps has worked in the past and apply technical reasoning and critical thinking throughout key stages of deal-making process. Participating teams, comprise 2 – 3 members, are required to submit the case answers/presentation by January 4, 2021 for screening.

 

3 finalist teams will be selected to present their solutions to a group of Duff & Phelps experts and nationally recognized professors in late March 2021. Winners of the 4 regional events in the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, Asia and India will be invited to participate in the Global finals of the YOUniversity Deal Challenge to be held in London in May 2021.

 

Awards and Benefits (Regional Round)

Winning team: HKD 65,000

Runners-up: HKD 45,000

 

How to join

  • Sign up HERE by November 30, 2020
  • Each team should comprise 2 – 3 students from the same university
  • Undergraduates or postgraduates (in 2-year programmes only) graduating between September 2021 and September 2023 are eligible to join (those graduating in spring or summer 2021 will not be eligible)

Disclaimer:

  1. Please note that student participants of this Competition will be responsible for their own safety while outside Hong Kong (provided that the students win the regional competition and to be invited to attend the Global Finals in London in May 2021) and should arrange sufficient insurance coverage for the overseas trip. Students shall bear the consequences of their decisions for the overseas trip.
  2. Since the Global Finals takes place in May 2021, there might be a possibility that it has time clash with final examinations. If this is the case, please seek consent from the course instructors to see if supplementary examinations can be arranged. Students need to take full responsibility while dealing with the examination arrangements and the School shall not be held liable for any consequences arise.
  3. The organizer will bear the travel expenses for the trip to London and our School will not be responsible for any expenses incurred in this competition plus the trip. In any case, the organizer will monitor the pandemic situation closely and evaluate the possibility of the overseas trip.
  4. The data collected through the online application is solely administered by the organizer. The School shall not be held liable in the case that disputes, loss or any other situations arise.
