The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong – Online Tax Competition 2021 is open for applications.

 

Competition Objectives

The Competition aims to facilitate students from different background to exchange ideas on how to strengthen the cooperation within The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater  Bay Area (the GBA), as well as to promote the study of taxation and draw awareness of university students to the tax profession as another choice in their career developments upon graduation.

 

Competition Format

The Competition will be conducted in Cantonese / Mandarin. Universities from the GBA are invited to nominate four students to join the competition in one team. The preliminaries on June 12, 2021 will require each team to research and analyze on specific tax policies of the GBA. Teams have to prepare a presentation slides and conduct an online presentation. In the final competition on June 19, 2021, competing teams will focus on case study and present their analysis to the panel of judges.

 

A briefing session is tentatively scheduled on April 16, 2021 to provide students with more details of the Competition. The tournament list will be decided by a draw during the briefing session. Attractive prizes including internship placement in reputable CPA firms will be awarded to the winning teams.

Eligibility

  • BBA(Acc&Fin) students / BBA(Law)&LLB students with Professional core in Accounting who have taken Taxation course in HKU
  • Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Strong interest and commitment to participate in the Competition and MUST be available to attend the online competition on June 12 & 19, 2021

Application Method

Interested students please apply online here. Applicants are required to combine your university transcript and a one-page CV (including your cumulative GPA, experiences in open Competitions and awards achieved, languages spoken, and internship experiences) to ONE single file and upload at the end of the online application.

 

The top 4 students will be selected to take part in this competition on behalf of our School.
