The Fourth KPMG ESG Case Study Competition

The Fourth KPMG ESG Case Study Competition is now calling for applications.
This competition is jointly organised by HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute, KPMG China, and Renmin University. It aims to enhance students’ practical skills in ESG business case analysis through real-world challenges, and to drive a new chapter in sustainable development by fostering synergy among students, enterprises, and society.

Dear Students,
The HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute is partnering with KPMG China and Renmin University to host the Fourth KPMG ESG Case Competition.
The 4th KPMG ESG Case Competition aims to “Analyze Cases, Connect with Business”, enhancing students’ practical skills in ESG business case analysis through real-world challenges. It fosters synergy among students, enterprises, and society, driving a new chapter in sustainable development. This competition is a joint initiative by KPMG China, our Institute and the Renmin University of China Business School, and it seeks to foster a profound partnership between enterprises and academia, nurturing top-tier talents for the future.
The highest-scoring teams will be invited to present their work to a high-profile panel of judges at the Presentation and Award Ceremony on Saturday, 6 December 2025 at KPMG KAMPUS (Shanghai).
Highlights
Fast Track to Internships: All finalists will receive an internship opportunity at KPMG for the 2026 winter break!
Expert Judging Panel: Judged by ESG academics and industry leaders, bridging academic and professional perspectives!
Prizes sponsored by HKU Business School: Five award categories, including team and individual prizes.
Grand Prize Benefit: HKU Business School will offer a scholarship of HKD 250,000 to each member of the 1st-prize winning team, applicable toward its Master of Sustainable Accounting and Finance program. The scholarship is conditional upon admission to the program, with specific terms and eligibility criteria defined by HKU Business School.

Applications
Interested students should submit the online application form and their work by Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Contestants must be current undergraduate or postgraduate students, with 2-4 students per team, at least one member in each team should have data analytical skills.
