Singapore Airlines AppChallenge 2018

FBE UG students are cordially invited to take part in the Singapore Airlines AppChallenge 2018.

In this Challenge, participants have the opportunity to tackle real-time business challenges facing Singapore Airlines, with exclusive APIs and other resources being provided.

Challenge Timeline:

Participants are required to submit their ideas online by September 30 (Sunday) for the jury's review. All those who have qualified will travel to Singapore (with the travel costs fully covered) for the AppChallenge Finale on October 27 (Saturday).

Participants will be able to gain:

  1. Mentorship opportunities provided by SIA industry veterans
  2. Access to SIA and partners’ APIs and datasets
  3. Potential Proof of Concept collaboration with SIA teams to develop commercial solutions
  4. Networking opportunities
  5. Exposure and insights to the exciting growing global aviation industry

Application Method:

To take part in the Challenge, you will need to

  • sign up as a team of 2 – 4 participants OR an individual participant via the platform (you can look for other like-minded individuals on the online platform to form a team); and
  • submit the required deliverables.

Remarks:

(1)    In case if any teams/individuals enter the AppChallenge Finale which takes place in Singapore on October 27, 2018, they need to be responsible for their own safety while outside Hong Kong, bear all expenses related to the trip (including visa application, if needed) as well as arrange and pay for their own insurance which covers the whole period of stay in Singapore. Our Faculty will not be responsible for any expenses incurred in the trip.

(2)    Teams/individuals who enter the AppChallenge Finale are required to apply for Leave of Absence through the Faculty Office before departing to Singapore.

(3)    The data collected through the online platform is solely administered by the organizers. The Faculty shall not be held liable in the case that disputes, loss or any other situations arise.
