PRMIA 7th Annual International Risk Management Challenge

The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) is calling applications for their 7th Annual International Risk Management Challenge (RMC).

 

Highlights of the Competition

The Risk Management Challenge is a case competition that offer students opportunity to explore to real-world business situations, apply the concepts they have learned and showcase their knowledge, critical thinking skills, leadership, and presentation abilities. The competition also enables students to grow their professional network and gain insight into the risk industry as they meet with students, faculty and risk leaders from around the world.

 

The competition consists of three rounds. In the online preliminary round, participating teams, comprise of 3 – 4 students, should submit an executive summary which outlines their approach to the case study. Shortlisted teams will advance to the regional round and present their executive summary to an industry panel of judges. Regional round finalists must also complete a MATLAB software modeling challenge. Winners of the regional round will receive additional questions that require deeper analysis of the case study to compete for the international championship. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, both the regional and final rounds are anticipated to be conducted virtually. One winning team will be chosen to win up to US$10,000 cash award.

 

Awards and Prizes

  • Each team that qualifies for the international championship will receive a one-year PRMIA Sustaining Membership for each team member
  • Top two teams will receive scholarships for the Professional Risk Manager designation
  • The winning team will receive up to US$10,000 cash award (The award will be pooled from registration fee and is subject to US tax laws. The final amount will be dependent on registrations.)

 

How to join

  • Register online and submit the most-updated CVs HERE in teams of 3 – 4 students by January 22, 2021
  • Submit a three-page executive summary before February 8, 2021
  • Students from across any of the following areas of study, including finance, economics, mathematics, business or commerce, accounting, and marketing, are encouraged to join

 

Application Deadline and Registration Fee

 

By January 22, 2021 (Friday)

US$200 per team
