JUMPSTARTER IdeaPOP!

JUMPSTARTER IdeaPOP!, a university Pitch Competition which aims to nurture a pool of business elites with an entrepreneurial mindset, is calling for application now (https://bit.ly/2mq4Ues).

Highlights of the Competition

Co-organized by Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, Hong Kong Federation of Business Students (HKFBS) and Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVhk), JUMPSTARTER IdeaPOP! is a pitching competition for all university students in Hong Kong. Participants will undergo pitch training and competition to learn the best practices to jump start a business plan, network with industry leaders and interact with other young entrepreneurs.

Each team which contains not more than 4 students should submit an online application with a powerpoint deck focusing on one of the 4 industry cohorts (Smart City, Retail, Deep Tech and FinTech)(Other sectors are also welcomed). Judging panel, including industry experts, investors and startup experts, who represent local and global startup communities, will rank the Top 40 students startups based on below judging criteria:

-          Innovation and Disruption to Industry (20%)

-          Market Potential, Business Model and Defensibility (20%)

-          Team Background and Relevant Strength (20%)

-          Traction and Further Development Plan (20%)

-          Hong Kong Nexus & Social impact (20%)

Rewards and Benefits

Top 40 teams will receive Complimentary Student Pass that can access all content and networking opportunities, plus a discounted code to share with own contacts, as well as priority access to JUMPSTARTER 2020. Teams will also be entitled to join a series of startup workshops which focus on entrepreneurship inspiration and innovation before the Semi Pitch Day (1^st round) in late November 2019.

Top 20 teams will be offered to join a series of startup workshops, pitch coaching session and mentorship session before the Semi Pitch Day (2^nd round) in mid of January 2020.

8 Finalists out of Top 20 teams selected from the 2^nd round will get onto the main stage for final pitching at JUMPSTARTER 2020, which will be held from February 11 – 12, 2020.

How to join

·         Sign up HERE as a team with no more than 4 students

·         Submit powerpoint deck up to 10 slides in PDF format before November 8, 2019

·         Students from all disciplines, ranging from Tertiary to PhD student who are interested in entrepreneurship, technology or innovation are welcome to join

The IdeaPOP! Sharing Session will be held on October 25, 2019 (Friday), while the application deadline for the Competition is November 8, 2019 (Friday).
