To: All UG students,

You are cordially invited to apply for the InnoHub, a programme of the Innovation Academy organised by the Faculty of Engineering, HKU.

Background of the Programme

In an increasingly complicated world, there is a high demand of well-rounded talents with holistic education who can comprehend and solve complex problems that transcend disciplines. InnoHub programme is dedicated to providing a platform to connect students from the ten faculties at The University of Hong Kong for cross-disciplinary collaboration and to prepare them for addressing the grand challenges of the world.

For example, Team Vera, an AI speech therapist developed by a group of students from Faculties of Social Sciences, Engineering and Education, won our pitching event in February 2021. With advice from Innovation Academy and Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing and more students joining in, the team won a third prize in the entrepreneurship proposal category at the 7th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Besides, academic champions (teachers nominated by their faculties to join the InnoHub) are enthusiastic in providing our students with opportunities to conduct interdisciplinary projects.
