FBE UG non-final year full time students of 2020-21 are cordially invited to take part in Deloitte Tax Championship 2021


Competition Format

  1. Preliminary Round – Selected students will form into a team of 4 to take part in the Preliminary Round. The team is required to submit a report on specific tax case in PPT format and then give an online presentation to the judging panel on September 25, 2021.
  2. Semi-final Round / Internship - 5 top teams from Hong Kong and Macau will enter the Semi-final Round. Each member of the Semi-finalist teams are required to complete an online test, >80 hours internship at Deloitte Office in Hong Kong, and submit a team report on specific topic by February 25, 2022. A mentor from Deloitte will be assigned to each team to enhance their practical skills at work
  3. National Semi-final & Final Round – 2 top teams from Hong Kong and Macau will be selected and advanced to the National Final Round from March 26 – 27, 2022. A total of 13 teams from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau will take part in the National Semi-final Round on March 26, 2022 which will be in the format of case analysis and presentation. 3 top teams will be selected to go through the Final Round of case analysis and presentation to compete for the Championship on March 27, 2022.

Eligibility

  1. Non-final year undergraduate students of 2020-21 (the students must still be a full-time undergraduate of HKU by the end of March 2022). Students who will be on Exchange/Leave of Absence for the period from September 2021 to March 2022 should NOT apply)
  2. Strong interest and commitment to participate in the competition and MUST be available to attend the Preliminary Round online in late September, Semi-final Round & Internship in Winter break (selected period from November 1, 2021 – February 25, 2022) and the Final Round in the end of March 2022 (destination to be confirmed).
  3. Able to communicate in Cantonese and Putonghua (for efficient communications among team members). Putonghua will be used for presentation in the Final Round.
  4. Knowledge of China Tax is a MUST.

Interested students please complete the online application form HERE. Shortlisted students will be informed of the result by mid of July. Students who do not hear from us by then can regard your application as unsuccessful.
