Highlights of the Competition
Launched in 2007, the ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition aims at nurturing students with a blend of accounting and business knowledge alongside social responsibility. Over the past 11 years, more than 16,600 students participated in this Competition, benefiting from a broad range of training workshops and stages of the competition to polish their business acumen, analytical, proposal writing and presentation skills.

The competition is open to full-time students in the accountancy and business-related disciplines (Degree and Sub-Degree) from local institutions. Each team shall consist of 3 to 4 students from the same institution.

To encourage students to equip themselves with a blend of skills and qualities required for the future world, ACCA introduces a new challenge namedDialogue with Employers for Top 20 Teams to showcase their professional skills during the workshop. The most outstanding team will be winning the recognition of ‘Future Leaders in the Eyes of Employers.

ACCA members who are seasoned accountants will be coaching the contesting students advancing to the Top 20 teams. The coaching opportunity will create an exceptional learning experience and benefit the students during the Competition and in the long run.

The topic of this year’s Business Competition is Professional and Social Conscious Leaders for our Shared Future. Each team is required to analyse and choose from one to four areas of social enterprises under New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (New Life). The four areas are Catering, Retail & Direct Sales, Ecotourism and Promotion of Wellbeing. The proposal should include strategies maximising the business impacts of the particular selected area(s) or relate and integrate across different areas.
