Introduction
To provide an invaluable opportunity for students to work in teams and apply knowledge and skills learned to tackle specific business issues and challenges, the Faculty of Business and Economics is pleased to introduce to you a brand new experiential learning initiative “The University of Hong Kong – Lan Kwai Fong Business Project 2017”.
About The University of Hong Kong – Lan Kwai Fong Business Project 2017
This Business Project is a partnership between the Lan Kwai Fong Association and the University. It provides students with developmental opportunities and consulting experience, and helps them to establish connection with the business sector.
Two students from the winning team might be awarded internship opportunities at Lan Kwai Fong Association in Summer 2017.
Eligibility
- All FBE non-first and non-final year students
- Non-FBE penultimate year students with a confirmed eligibility to pursue a major or minor offered by the FBE
- Current FBE incoming exchange students (*Internship opportunities cannot be offered to incoming exchange students due to visa issue)
Project Format
1. Screening
(i) Students should form a team of four/five and complete the online application.
[Note: Online application includes submission of (i) personal particulars; and (ii) two essays on the questions in 500 words and 250 words respectively: "How much alcoholic drink is sold in Lan Kwai Fong during a normal weekend? Please state your methodology." & "Please provide one reason that why do you think, among all the applicants, your team should be selected for this programme?"].
(ii) Organiser will select two teams as finalists to work on the Business Project.
2. Business Project
(i) The selected teams are required to participate actively in activities related to the Project. Such activities may include: Project meetings, business events, and/or group presentations.
(ii) Students are also required to submit reports and evaluation forms on a regular basis to monitor the progress.
