Venture into Future Career

INTRODUCTION

Partnering with Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (Cyberport) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Venture into Future Career (VFC) is an exclusive programme for HKU Business School's Undergraduate Students. The selected students will have the chance to:

• attend the training workshops;

• receive 1-on-1 career advice and coaching;

• get in touch with CEO/ CFO/ seasoned industry leaders for first-hand industry information; and

• be offered a potential internship opportunity at the collaborating company

STRUCTURE

VFC consists of 2 MANDATORY sessions: Preparatory Sessions and Sharing Sessions.

Preparatory Sessions

To jump start your career, personality tests or other tools will be introduced to let you have a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses.

Each student will receive written comments on their submitted CVs. Besides, individual career coaching session will be given to interested students who signed up for the session. 

Sharing Sessions

CEO/ CFO/ seasoned leaders will be invited to share with you the latest recruitment trend, job market information, career development advice in the wake of pandemics. You will be able to have direct dialogue with C-suite executives. Each student will be matched with a guest speaker for one Coffee Chat.

**Certificates will be awarded to students who successfully complete the programme.

INTERNSHIP

Best performing students may be offered internship opportunity from the collaborating company/companies. Selection criteria is based on the following:

• Voluntary submission of reflection report after every session; and
• Quality of reflection reports

SCHEDULE

**Venue of the Coffee Chat may not be in HKU campus, and is subject to mutual agreement between the speaker and students.

Application are required to upload the following documents, 

1. Most updated resume/ CV (word/pdf format)
2. Motivation Essay (one A-4 page in word/ pdf format) telling us the following:
   • Why would you like to take part in this programme
   • What do you want to accomplish at the end of the programme

ADMISSION

Deposit refund policies

A refundable deposit of HK$1,000 has to be paid at the time we issue offer. The deposit will be refunded upon successful completion of the programme. Please note that full attendance to every arranged activity is expected, otherwise refundable deposit will be forfeited.

An information session will be held on 9 September 2024 (Monday) to introduce the programme. Details are listed in below,
