About the Study Tour
Co-organized by HKU Business School and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), HKUBS x ACCA Greater Bay Area Study Tour offers a unique opportunity for students to explore current business trends and developments in the GBA and enhance your readiness for future career development and personal success. Students will get connect with seasoned accounting and business professionals in GBA.
Outstanding students of the study tour will be offered with job shadowing opportunity to learn from industry professionals and gain first-hand industry insights.

Eligibility
All HKU Business School Undergraduate Students
Students with the following attributes:
- Demonstrated interest in accounting professions
- Passion to understand the development in China
- Open and critical mindset
- Basic level of Mandarin is a must
**Shortlisted students may be invited to a group interview in early March 2025.
Programme Costs
All programme fees will be sponsored by the organisers. A refundable deposit of HK$2,000 has to be paid by student participants. The deposit will be refunded to students upon completion of the programme (includes attending the pre- and post-trip sessions).

- High Speed Rail ticket from Hong Kong West Kowloon to Guangzhou
- Land transportation for scheduled programme events in mainland China
Items to be paid by students:
- Travel insurance (HKU will provide basic overseas travel insurance to participants. Nonetheless, participants are strongly recommended to make extra travel insurance arrangement according to individual needs.)
- Visa application fee for non-local participants (except participants from mainland China) may be required to apply for a travelling visa for entering mainland China.

Information Session
To provide students with more details regarding the Study Tour, an information session will be arranged. Details are as follows:

Remarks: Only students who have attended the information session will be considered for participation in the Study Tour.
Pre-trip Session
A 1.5-hour on-campus Preparatory Session cum Pre-Departure Session in early April 2025. Topics include
- A brief overview of the economy and business in Hong Kong & GBA
- Participant grouping
- A brief overview of the itinerary and logistics
Post-trip Session
Students are required to attend a post-trip session and deliver presentations & reflection sharing on April 25, 2025 (Fri) evening. Outstanding students will be offered with job shadowing opportunity.

3. 300-word essay on “What specific aspects of the GBA and its development interest you the most? What are your career aspirations, and how do you think this programme will help you achieve them?”

Remarks
1) Students who take part in the programme must be a regular registered student of HKU in Semester 2 of 2024-25 who will NOT be on Exchange/Leave of Absence throughout the entire semester.
2) HKU Business School reserves the right to cancel the programme should there be insufficient enrollment or any unforeseen circumstances. Students are required to bear all the consequences that may arise.
3) In case the tour is cancelled, students will be notified by email as soon as possible and the paid deposit will be refunded.
