As organized by School of Management, Fudan University, this summer programme will be held in Shanghai, from June 2 – 12, 2017.

 

About the Programme

With support by the Ministry of Education, the “China Business and Economics” (CBE) Programme will be arranged in this coming summer break. CBE is a 11-day credit-bearing summer programme open to Year 1 to Year 3 FBE students. It aims to enhance students’ understanding of China business and economy by providing first-hand experience through living and learning in Shanghai.

 

Participants will enroll in a 6-credit HKU course BUSI2813 Field Experience in China Business Environment especially designed for CBE participants. Aside from classroom activities which will be held in Fudan University, the course includes site visits to leading enterprises in industries such as finance, tourism, manufacturing, IT and creative industries. There will also be guest talks by alumni, scholars and business leaders. Similar as other HKU courses, students are required to complete the work as assigned by the lecturer, group projects, presentations and final examination in order to receive a grade as well as the credits. This course will be counted as free elective which will be used to fulfill part of your graduation requirements.

Eligibility

FBE UG Year 1 to 3 students

*Priority will be given to students who have never joined any China programmes as offered by the Faculty before.
**The programme will be conducted in English.

 

Programme Costs

Items to be paid by students:

  • Flight tickets between Hong Kong and Shanghai
  • Optional Travel insurance (All HKU students will be covered by the Corporate Business Travel Insurance as arranged by the University. Students may purchase an additional insurance plan if you want to extend the coverage during your stay in Shanghai.)

  • Tuition fee
  • Accommodation
  • Meals on campus
  • Cultural Tours
  • Local transportation for site visits and cultural tours

Selection Interviews 
Selection interviews will be arranged for shortlisted candidates in mid to end of February 2017. Students who cannot attend the interview will automatically be withdrawn from the application process.

 

Refundable Deposit
Selected students are required to pay a deposit of HK$3,000 which will be refunded upon completion of the programme.
