180 Degrees Consulting (www.180dc.org) is the world’s largest student consulting group for non-profits and social enterprises.

Our branch

Operating for seven years, the HKU branch has performed consulting projects for some of the largest multinational charities and NGOs in Hong Kong and abroad. Our past clients include Crossroads Foundation, Amnesty International Thailand, HELP for Domestic Workers, Resolve Foundation, KELY Support Group, PathFinders, ImpactHK, and more.

What you can gain from 180DC

As a 180DC Consultant, you can gain hands-on experience in consulting and open up the gate to a consulting career. You will work on real-life business cases and help our NGO & social enterprise clients to extend their social impacts by solving their business problems.

Who we are looking for

We are now recruiting members to join us as consultants. Students from any year of study and major are welcome. If you are an inquisitive, versatile and ambitious person with a great passion for social innovation, then this is the team for you.

Qualities we look for:

• Interest in the consulting industry and passion for making social impacts (prior experience in consulting and social services is a plus)
• Good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fast learner with a strong willingness to learn
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
• Innovative and open-minded to new ideas and concepts
• Responsible and have strong ownership of your work
• Great time management skills with sufficient capacity to deliver the work on time
• Flexibility and ability to modify work according to clients’ needs throughout the project duration

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work on a consulting project in a team of 4-5 and throughout the semester
• Participate in all the training and activities provided to the consultants, as well as the internal meetings on a team basis
• Conduct various research based on the needs of the case
• Turn information & data into insights to develop creative and effective strategies to address clients’ needs 
• Participate in client meetings and interview the clients or other stakeholders for necessary information
• Create deliverables according to the client’s requirements and present
• Other ad hoc duties in order to complete the project
