[Message from HKU Investment Banking Club]
Dear students,
Founded in 2023, HKU Investment Banking Club(IBC) is the first investment banking-oriented society in HKU. The society is led by outstanding students with one or more summer internship offers from top-tier foreign investment banks, and they will be mentors for the recruited students.
Our mission
Our mission is to nurture a resourceful and inclusive student community to help motivated individuals to reach their full potential in their investment banking careers.
Who we are looking for
We are now looking for dedicated students to be on the Executive Committee of our society. The committee will also be eligible for our exclusive mentorship program and training sessions.
What you can gain from IBC
Regular training sessions and workshops
- Topics from technical skills, interview preparation and resume polishing will be covered.
- Industry practitioners will also be invited to share industry insights and career experiences.
Exclusive mentorship programme
- All members will be eligible for one-on-one mentorship
- Mentees will also be eligible for coffee chats with other industry professionals.
Practical Leadership experience
- Your leadership experience can be crafted into stories to impress interviewers.
- It can also show your commitment towards an investment banking career.
Tight-knit community
- Students will be building professional relationships with seniors and alumni and strong bonding with their fellow peers.
- An IBC alumni database will also be built to help all the members stay connected with each other in the future and give back to the community.
Qualities and background we look for
- Motivated and dedicated to launching his/her career in IBD.
- Fast learner with a strong willingness to learn.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
- Good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong in academics.
- Willing to contribute and give back to IBC in the future.
Year 2 students are preferred, yet applicants from other years will also be considered.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend all the training sessions and, if necessary, make timely submissions.
- Fulfil any society-related duties (e.g. organise gatherings, social events and talks, maintain social media pages).
