Course Description
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the principles and practices of sustainability, focusing on the interconnectedness of social, economic, and environmental dimensions. Students will gain a solid understanding of the history and development of sustainability, as well as the key concepts and frameworks necessary to address complex global challenges.
Course Learning Outcomes
CLO1: Comprehend the definition, history, and importance of sustainable development, and understand its three core pillars-environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
CLO2: Identify global and local challenges to sustainable development, analyse the effectiveness of various sustainability practices and policies, and apply such knowledge and perspective to a manager’s communication and leadership role.
CLO3: Understand the role of various stakeholders in sustainable development and be familiar with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
CLO4: Apply the principles of sustainable development to real-world contexts, propose solutions to sustainability issues, and promote sustainability in their professional lives especially in the areas of communication and leadership.
