To All UG Students,

 

The 11th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is calling for applications.

 

The Competition is organised by Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association. The top winners will have the chance to represent Hong Kong in national competitions, including China International College Students' Innovation Competition, the “Challenge Cup” China College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, and/or the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest.

 

Interested students could apply individually or as a team with no restrictions on the number of members*. Please select categories between Innovation and Entrepreneurship and submit the online application at https://www.hkchallengeplus.com/en/application-info/first-step-apply/by Monday, March 31, 2025.

 

* Members could be from different institutions, but the institution of the team leader will represent the whole team when taking part in the Regional/National Competitions.

Upcoming Competition: The 11th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

 

Dear student,

 

It's time for our annual highlight innovation and entrepreneurship event for higher education institutions again! In our 11th annual competition, the winningentrepreneurship projectswill form as a Hong Kong  representative team to participate the China International College Students' Innovation Competitionand/or the “Challenge Cup” China College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, which are known as "The Best and Biggest Roadshow Platform Worldwide" and “The Biggest Platform of Chinese Young Entrepreneurs” respectively while the winning innovation projects will enter the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest which is recognized as the "China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Olympic". This year, award-winning projects will represent Hong Kong at three international events: World Invent Singapore (WoSG), Indonesia Inventors' Day (IID), and Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF). (I) Innovation Category (Research Thesis/ Invention);

(jLife Sciences/kEnergy, Environmental and Chemical Engineering/lInformation technologymMathematics and Physics/ Mechanics and Control Systems)

(II) Entrepreneurship Category (jEntrepreneurship Proposal/ kStartup/lSocial Enterprise/Cultural & Creative Services)

Project Areas: Manufacturing/Information Technology Services/Cultural & Creative Services/ Community Services/ Social entrepreneurship/ Modern Agriculture, etc.

Awards：

  1. Awards：Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize
  2. Outstanding Institution Award (to be awarded to the institution which had submitted the highest number of outstanding projects)
  3. Total cash prize value is over HKD$500,000.
  4. Top winners will represent HKSAR and their colleges in the above mentioned National Competition(s) and gain access to resource connections, public exhibitions, media coverage, etc.

1 Please note that student participants of this Competition will be responsible for their own safety while outside Hong Kong (for winners who will participate in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition, the “Challenge Cup” China College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, and/or the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest in Mainland China) and should arrange sufficient insurance coverage for the trip to Mainland China. Students shall bear the consequences of their decisions for the trip to Mainland China.

 

2 Student participants must pay all expenses related to the trip. The Faculty will not be responsible for any expenses incurred in this competition plus the trip to Mainland China (if applicable).
