KPMG Business Administration Paper 2017 (“BA Paper”) is a leading international business plan writing competition held annually in Hong Kong by Hong Kong Federation of Business Students (“HKFBS”) since 1986. The competition aims to equip students with essential academic knowledge and get a touch of the real business world. 

About HKFBS
HKFBS is a non-profit organization managed by local business undergraduates in Hong Kong, with more than 15,000 members from the 9 local universities. It is the only organization which includes the widest spectrum of local students from the business field.

Founded in January 1985, HKFBS represents all local business undergraduates in Hong Kong, and serve them by fostering their friendship, coordination and mutual understanding. It endeavors to assist students in becoming prominent figures in business with sound academic knowledge, excellent managerial skills, as well as help them to gain an understanding of the real business environment.

About BA Paper
BA Paper aims to stimulate students’ business acumen and fostering interflow of creative ideas between the academic and business field, as well as to recognize the quality work of Business undergraduates. With 32 years of proud history, BA Paper enjoys the status as one of the most representative and time-honoured student-run case competitions. Last year, more than 1,300 students from more than 25 countries joined the competition.

This year, under the theme “Go Beyond Data”, participants are required to come up with a detailed business plan for a start-up company that could make an impact on the society today - how would you make use of data from both your business and the market to improve business sustainability and profitability? Do you see any opportunities or potential in the market? The business plan should include a detailed outline of your strategy and implementation plan. Reasonable and detailed explanations should be provided to explain how your plan utilises the D&A concept in order to improve company growth, customer loyalty, profit margins and risk control.

To apply for the competition, participants are required to submit a 5-page Executive Summary for preliminary round internal assessment. Shortlisted participants will enter the Semi-Final. The top 4 teams will proceed to the Grand Final in mid-February 2018.

BA Paper also gives you opportunities to mingle with top business elites, scholars and talented undergraduates from local and overseas universities. Past foreign partners include (but not limited to) the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Tsinghua University, National University of Singapore etc.

1.     Form a team of 2 - 4 undergraduates (non-exclusive to business students) from ANY university and apply online at http://www.bapaper.com/join/

2.     Students from non-business programmes are welcomed to join BA Paper. However, the group should consist of at least 1 business undergraduate.
