JUMPSTARTER IdeaPOP! | University Pitch Competition which aims to nurture a pool of business elites with an entrepreneurial mindset, is calling for application now (https://www.jumpstarter.hk/en/student).
Highlights of the Competition
Co-organized by Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, Hong Kong Federation of Business Students (HKFBS) and Mettā, JUMPSTARTER IdeaPOP! | University Pitch Competition is a one-month programme for all university students in Hong Kong. Participants will undergo pitching training and competition to learn the best practices to jump start a business plan, network with industry leaders and interact with other young entrepreneurs.
Each team which contains 2 to 3 students should submit an online application with a powerpoint deck focusing on one of the 4 industry cohorts (Smart City, Retail, Advanced Technology and Financial Services). Judging panel, including industry experts, investors and startup experts, who represent local and global startup communities, will rank the Top 100 students startups based on below judging criteria:
- Corporate Innovation and Disruption to Industry (25%)
- Market Potential, Business Model and MVP (25%)
- Innovation and Defensibility (25%)
- Team Background and Relevant Strength (25%)

Rewards and Benefits
Top 100 teams will receive Complimentary Student Pass that can access to all content and networking opportunities, plus discounted code to share with own contacts, as well as priority access to startup mentoring.
Top 40 teams will be offered to join pitch coaching session before the Semi-Final Pitch Day in early January 2019.
Top 20 teams selected from mentioned Pitch Day will be entitled to join a 2-week startup bootcamp before 2-round Final Pitch. It offered great opportunity for teams to learn different business tools and frameworks in entrepreneurship that can be applied to your business ideas while advancing your personal and professional growth.
4 Finalists out of Top 20 teams selected from Final Pitch (Round 1) on JUMPSTARTER – Day 1 (January 23, 2019) will get on the main stage for final pitching
1 Winning Team selected from Final Pitch (Round 2) on JUMPSTARTER – Day 2 (January 24, 2019) will win!

How to join
- Sign up HERE as a team of 2 – 3 members
- Submit powerpoint deck up to 10 slides in PDF format before November 19, 2018
- Students from all disciplines, ranging from Tertiary student to PhD who are interested in entrepreneurship, technology or innovation are welcome to join
