Joint-University Algo Trading Challenge 2020/21
Joint-University Algo Trading Challenge 2020/21 is calling for registration now.
Co-organized by ALGOGENE, A.O. Horizon and CONTRENDIAN, the Joint-University Algo Trading Challenge 2020/21 aims to identify and nurture the next generation of algo trading talent to help advance the FinTech industry in Hong Kong. In this Challenge, the student teams not only can ideate their trading algorithms to compete with others for cash prizes on various metrics, but they can also acquire relevant industry knowledge and practical skills through teamwork and interaction with industry professionals.
Participating teams, comprise of up to 4 members, are required to submit a trading proposal by late November 2020 for screening in the “Ideate” Round. No coding is required for this stage. Shortlisted teams who entered the “Test” Round are required to code their trading algorithm and test on ALGOGENE's back-testing engine, then submit the code by mid of January 2021. In the “Compete” Round, advancing teams will run their trading algorithm on a new data set provided and present their trading plan to judges in a 5-minute pitch session on the event day on February 20, 2021. Judges will select winners under three categories, including Best Return, Best Sharpe and Best Strategy Design.

January 31, 2021: Announcement of 2nd Round Winners
February 20, 2021: Final Round Event Day and Award Ceremony
