Deloitte Tax Championship 2023
Dear students,
You are cordially invited to take part in the Deloitte Tax Championship 2023.
Competition Format
- Preliminary Round
Selected students from the HKU Business School will form into a team of 4 to take part in the Preliminary Round, which will be conducted online.
Participating teams will be randomly paired up by Deloitte to make an presentation and take part in a Case Defense in the morning on October 21, 2023 (Saturday). All teams will enter the afternoon session on the same day for a case analysis and submit a report within the given time limit.
- National Semi-final and Final Round
Shortlisted teams will take part in a Case Analysis and Presentation to the judges on site in late November 2023 (exact date(s) and location in Mainland China to be confirmed).
The finalist teams will discuss, present and report on the controversial issues that may arise from a simulated case based on their own standpoints to compete for the Championship.
Eligibility
1. Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students for the academic year 2023-24 who have NEVER participated in this competition (Students who will be on Exchange/Leave of Absence for the period from September – December 2023 should NOT apply).
2. Strong interest and commitment to participate in the competition and MUST be available to attend the Preliminary Round in mid-October, and the Final Round in late November 2023 (location (in Mainland China) to be confirmed).
3. Able to communicate in Cantonese and Putonghua (for efficient communication among team members). Putonghua is a MUSTfor the presentation in the National Round.
4. Knowledge of China Tax and International Tax is a MUST.

Application Method and Deadline
Interested students please complete the online application form HERE for the School’s preliminary selection. Shortlisted students will be informed of the result by late September. Students who do not hear from us by then can regard your application as unsuccessful.
