Deloitte Tax Championship 2019

FBE UG / PG non-final year full time students of 2018-19 are cordially invited to take part in Deloitte Tax Championship 2019

 

Competition Format

  1. Preliminary Round – Selected students will form into a team of 4 to take part in the Preliminary Round which will be in the format of online test. The online test contains multiple choice questions on China tax and logical thinking skills. The Preliminary Round will be held on July 7, 2019 (schedule re-arranged from July 6 to July 7 by the Organizer).
  2. Local Semi-final Round – 5 top teams from Hong Kong and Macau will enter the Semi-final Round. Each team is required to submit a written report on specific tax case and then give a presentation to the judging panel at Deloitte Office in Hong Kong on August 31, 2019.
  3. National Final Round – 2 top teams from Hong Kong and Macau will be selected and advance to the National Final Round in Chengdu from October 26 – 27, 2019. A total of 13 teams from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau will take part in the National Semi-final Round on October 26 which will be in the format of case analysis and presentation. 3 top teams will be selected to go through the Final Round of case analysis and presentation to compete for the Championship on October 27.

The official language of the whole competition is Chinese. However, some questions will be conducted in English to test your language capability.

Eligibility

  1. Non-final year undergraduate / postgraduate students of 2018-19 (the students must still be a full-time undergraduate / postgraduate of HKU by December 2019.) Students who will be on Exchange/Leave of Absence for the period from September to December 2019 should NOT apply). 
  2. Strong interest and commitment to participate in the competition and MUST be available to attend the Local Semi-final Round in Hong Kong in late August and the Final Round in Mainland China in the end of October 2019.
  3. Knowledge of China Tax is required / necessary.
  4. Able to communicate in Cantonese and Putonghua (for efficient communications among team members). Putonghua will be used for presentation in the Final Round.

Students who have previously participated in the Deloitte Tax Championship are NOT eligible to join this year’s competition.


Application Method
Interested students please complete the online application form HERE. Shortlisted students will be informed of the result by the end of May. Students who do not hear from us by then can regard your application as unsuccessful.
